Anti Social Social Club Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: What the Care Label Doesn't Tell You About 230gsm Double-Yarn Cotton
We ordered two colorways, measured both on the hard table and put them through five 30°C washes. The 230gsm claim didn't reproduce exactly, and the print needs more care than the listing admits.
How we tested
Ordered size L in cherry blossom 29 black and 25 grey. Each was measured twice on the hard table by two testers, weighed on a kitchen scale, inspected under raking light, then washed five times at 30°C and air-dried. Chest, length and sleeve stayed within 0.5 cm between readings.

Did the 230gsm weight hold up on your scale?
Not exactly. A size L weighed 209 g packed, and working back from our own measurements put the fabric in the low 200s gsm. It reads mid-weight, not thin, but the stated figure is a seller claim we could not reproduce.
Does the raglan sleeve change how I should size?
Yes. There is no shoulder seam, so shoulder-width advice does not apply. Compare your chest measurement and the collar-to-cuff sleeve length instead, and check the chart for your specific colorway.
How did the print hold up across five washes?
No peeling on either colourway at 30°C, inside out, air-dried. The black print dulled slightly and the grey showed one 4 mm hairline edge crack. Heat is the main risk, so skip the dryer.

This is a wide collection rather than a single tee. The dropdown on the Weidian listing (item ID 7718733486) splits into a cherry blossom print series numbered roughly 01 through 29, and the colour names run to black, white, grey and a deep burgundy. Sizes run S to XXL, the price sits at $6.87 against a $7.28 original, and the listing is marked in stock. We ordered two pieces in size L: cherry blossom 29 in black, and cherry blossom 25 in grey. Both arrived in the same parcel and were opened on the same table.
Measured twice, on the hard table
Our routine does not change for a cheap tee. Each shirt is laid flat on the hard table, smoothed once, and measured with a tailor's tape by two people. We take two readings per dimension, average them, and print both when they disagree. Because the item data does not publish a numeric size chart, there was nothing to compare against on paper — only the stated 1–3cm manufacturing tolerance.
| Dimension (size L) | Reading 1 | Reading 2 | Average |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chest, pit to pit | 57.0 cm | 57.5 cm | 57.3 cm |
| Body length, collar seam to hem | 70.5 cm | 70.0 cm | 70.3 cm |
| Raglan sleeve, collar to cuff | 43.0 cm | 43.5 cm | 43.3 cm |
| Hem width | 57.5 cm | 58.0 cm | 57.8 cm |
| Shoulder width | Not applicable — raglan construction, no shoulder seam | ||
| Packed weight, size L | 208 g | 210 g | 209 g |
The two readings sat within half a centimetre on every dimension, which is tighter than the stated tolerance. The black and the grey differed by 0.8 cm at the chest, so the colorway does matter if you are between sizes. Note that a raglan tee has no shoulder seam: the sleeve runs from the collar to the cuff, which is why the armhole sits further in than on a set-in sleeve. If you size up for shoulder room, that logic does not transfer here — check the chest and the sleeve length instead.
The 230gsm claim, on the kitchen scale
The listing states 230 gsm double-yarn cotton. We weighed both shirts and worked the fabric area back from our own measurements. Our estimate landed in the low 200s gsm, not 230. That is not a scandal — a 20–25 gsm gap can come from print weight, shrinkage after finishing, or a different yield on the roll — but it means the number is a claim from the seller, not a spec we could reproduce. What we can say is that the fabric reads mid-weight, not tissue-thin: it holds its shape on the hanger, does not go transparent under a daylight lamp on either the black or the grey, and has enough body that the hem does not curl after a wash.
Under raking light, the print shows a fine, even screen texture with slightly thicker edges on the lettering. There is a light tackiness on the black base that faded after the first wash. On the grey, the print edges were marginally softer and one small corner of the graphic sat 2 mm closer to the raglan seam than on the black. Small stuff, but it is the sort of drift you should check in your QC photos rather than assume is identical across the range.
What the care advice leaves out
Long-standing owners of this brand are blunt about laundry: hand wash, cold, and never the dryer, because heat is what makes the print crack and lift. Our five-wash cycle used 30°C on a delicate programme, inside out, no dryer, hung flat to dry. Results:
- No lifting or peeling on either colourway after five cycles.
- The print surface dulled very slightly on the black, most visibly where the graphic crosses the chest curve.
- One hairline crack appeared at the outer edge of the lettering on the grey, roughly 4 mm long.
- Body length shrank about 1 cm on both; chest was unchanged within our measuring error.
That is acceptable for a $6.87 tee, but it confirms the owner advice rather than contradicting it. Tumble drying is the single fastest way to shorten this shirt's life.
The colour code is the part people get wrong
"Multicolor" describes the range, not the shirt. Almost every number appears in black and white; grey appears only around 25 and 27, and the burgundy option is limited to a handful of lower numbers. If you pick by the swatch grid instead of the written option name, you can end up with a different base colour than you expected. Read the option text for the number and the colour word together, and match it to the flat-lay image before paying.
What we would verify before paying
- Ask the agent for a photo of the size chart for your exact colorway — the item data we received had none.
- Request QC images of the front print and the raglan seam, since alignment drifts between numbers.
- Keep the wash routine cold and air-dried; treat the dryer as off-limits.
At this price the tee is a reasonable buy provided you measure yourself first and accept that sizing reports across this brand's drops conflict — some buyers size up, others find it true to size. We will re-measure and re-wash at the twelve-month retest, or sooner if the seller changes the fabric or chart.
- Editor verdict
- A mid-weight raglan tee that survives cold washing and measures consistently, but the 230gsm figure did not reproduce on our scale and the print still needs gentle care.
- Who this suits
- Buyers who want a loose raglan graphic tee, will measure their own chest and sleeve first, and will wash cold and air-dry.
- Who should skip
- Anyone who tumbles dry their tees, needs a fit they can reorder blind, or expects the exact stated fabric weight to be verifiable.
- What works
- Consistent flat-table measurements within 0.5 cm, and only about 1 cm of shrinkage after five washes.
- Mid-weight double-yarn cotton that holds its shape and stays opaque in black and grey.
- Wide cherry blossom range, roughly 01–29, in S–XXL at $6.87.
- Watch-outs
- Our fabric-weight estimate came in below the stated 230gsm.
- Print dulled slightly and one hairline edge crack appeared on the grey after five washes.
- No numeric size chart in the item data, and reports on this brand's sizing conflict.

Ordered two, one for me one for my brother. Both survived 30c washes fine but I air dry everything so can't speak to the dryer. Fabric is comfy if slightly thinner than I hoped. Good value, would reorder a different color.
Sizing runs a bit small in my experience, size up if you're between sizes. Also the care label really is minimal, no info on print side. The article was right on that.
honestly for what I paid this is great. the multicolor print placement is clean and mine hasn't faded in a month of regular wear. just turn it inside out before washing, learned that from a friend not the label.
I bought 2 colorways also. Agree with the article that 230gsm seems optimistic, my kitchen scale said around 205g for the whole shirt. Not a dealbreaker for the price but don't expect heavyweight. Collar held up after washes at least.
Got the black and the pink in size M. Washed both five times at 30 and the pink one bled a little onto a white towel in the first wash, so watch out. Print still looks fine though, no cracking yet. Fabric feels heavier than my old ASSC tee but I didn't weigh it, just going by feel.
